There are 2 main types of printing technology available today: digital printing, Copy Direct’s specialist method, and traditional offset printing. Copy Direct can help with any print requirements, whether they are offset or digital.
What is traditional offset printing?
Offset printing is where an inked image is transferred from plates to rubber blankets, then to your printing medium. This method requires plates to be made first. Offset printing is commonly used in high volume printing jobs such as books, newspapers, magazines, brochures, and stationary.
Offset printing is best used for large volume jobs. When you need to print smaller volume jobs, it becomes more cost effective to go with digital printing. As with any printing, the more you order the more cost effective it is. It is easier and faster to use traditional offset printing methods when producing very large quantities of printed work, such as a newspaper.
The new digital print technology available matches offset printing for quality.
